A lot of things changed very quickly for me over the past couple months so I decided I was going to spend new years with friends. And even though it’s over I still am not sure if it was a good idea. They see each other far more than they see me, so I felt very third wheely if that makes sense. Going back home soon though so I can go back to feeling like a unicycle. Lol

Work is still slow with people seemingly trying to get back into the swing of things. Could definitely be worse!

I’ve been off since December 31 and don’t need to go back in until Monday so it’s been really nice. My husband has this week off too and we’ve both mostly been playing video games.

I’m planning to give my two weeks’ notice next week, then spring semester starts later this month, so this has been a really nice break to just chill and reset before work and school resume.

I’m visiting my in-laws in the Delaware area. We’re far from home, so it’s always an adventure for me as I’ve only been out this way three times now.

NYE was a bust cause I got super sick with vertigo. The next day we got to catch the end of the Mummers Parade in person, so I was over the moon! I got whiskey that was too strong for me at an Irish pub and ate hot pretzels outside the city hall.

Last night we visited Longwood Gardens and today we’re touring the Herrs chip factory. After that it will be games and relaxing.

It’s hard to express how much better this year has started compared to last year. I feel like the sun is finally peeking thru the darkness of the last few years.

A New Year’s Day parade that stems from old European traditions but borrows heavily from black and brown culture too. Some people have described it as being like Brazilian Carnival or Mardi Gras but “Gritty-er” because it is in Philadelphia. I was expecting more coordinated dancing like Carnival but this was more like men in costumes randomly making merry. It was quite a spectacle

If my CW doesn’t stop wearing essential oils as perfume I’m going on sick leave until the no scent in the workplace rule gets enforced by management. Do people who wear scents not understand how sick it makes some people? Honestly. It’s making me wheeze so badly from my asthma. Please stop wearing perfume and cologne everyone.

One if the companies that tried to recruit me 2 years ago is constantly hiring. In other news they exclusively do 12 hour rotating shifts and have 1 death and several injuries on file that were found to be caused by various forms of negligence. I am so glad I noped out of the hiring process when I did.
