Does anyone have any suggestions for a 20"x4" puncture resistant tire setup? I was just bragging to a couple friends that I’ve never had a flat tire on a bike, which meant it was time for me to get a flat.
Should have taken the time to put flat out in my tires, but I didn’t because I was a dumbass and wanted to ride right away. QQ
Update: I have decided to go with Tannus Armor and Flatout to be extra sure. Still going to carry a couple of spare tubes and tire tools to be safe but hopefully I won’t need them until the stock tires die. After that, I might replace them with some tires that also have built in puncture resistance.
Patched the tube for now, looks like it was a pinch flat. Waiting for the Tannus armor to come in along with some slightly smaller tubes, which is apparently recommended for the liners. Gonna put some flat out in there too, I’ve been running that in my mountain bike and never had a flat.
Thanks for the advice everyone, I’ll let you know how it goes!
My research on this lead me to “Tannus Armour Tire Inserts”.
I have 26x4s and when I was done wrestling them in, I prayed they last until my tires need replaced. :P
Thanks, not the first time I’ve heard of them.
I’m going with your suggestion along with Flatout. My local bike shop said they’d install it all for me for $40 so I won’t have to mess around with putting them in either. With decent luck this will be my last flat for at least couple thousand miles!
Still going to pack a couple extra tubes though, just in case! For now I’m riding on a patched tube.
