A gel injected into the scrotum could be the next male contraceptive::Biotech company Contraline has safely implanted a sperm-blocking hydrogel in 23 men. It’s designed to be a fully reversible vasectomy.

men are huge babies at the best of times, you will never convince more than a fraction of them to take a needle to the balls

Vasectomy is pretty widespread though and on the rise. If it’s really like a reversible vasectomy, as it is described in the article, I am pretty sure that a lot of men would do it.

Honestly the scrotal lidocaine injections for a vasectomy weren’t bad. A very unnatural sensation but no worse than a needle in the arm.

Getting hit in the balls is a lot more painful than a vasectomy in most case.

I’d take the vasectomy “pain” over getting hit in the balls any day of the week

So, Vasalgel from a different company. I honestly don’t understand why this isn’t a product yet. Getting a vasectomy is so difficult as there’s still a lot of prejudice and because it’s seen a permanent. Urologists, maybe even the conservative ones would be willing to use it as it wouldn’t interfere with the traditional views of “men have to make babies! it’s a man’s duty!” that much.
