As bad as the m night movie was, I can’t image they would attempt this unless they were going to do it right. But it also seems impossible to do right.

I still struggle to imagine how they got it so wrong in that movie. It’s as if they deliberately made the most wrong choice at every opportunity.

      • What’s his name? I’m just gonna go with eeng.
      • “Bending”? So just like, waving your hands around like a spell or something. Got it.
      • Why would we make it funny? Kids these days really want stoic, expressionless characters in their flicks.
      • The main characters weren’t white? Ah, whatever. Nobody will notice.
      • You know what, we should still represent the cultural roots of the show. Be respectful and stuff. Let’s make the bad guys all Indian.

Etc, etc, etc. It’s almost impressive how disparate it is from the source material.

It was more like “Ahng”. Not sure where people are getting “Eeng” in this thread. Supposedly it was to make it sound more “ethnically correct” or something along those lines. Clearly the movie was just a complete disrespect to the source material — still hard to believe such garbage was produced.
