    you shouldn’t use optifine anymore sodium on its own is better but then there’s some other mods like lithium which make it even better it doesn’t have any of the graphical features like shaders or ctm or random entity textures but there’s other fabric/quilt mods that add those to like iris for shaders even further optifine slightly changes how the game does things breaking certain technical minecraft things while these more modern mods perform way better than optifine they also don’t break anything like optifine unless you’re on an old version where these mods don’t exist there’s no reason to use optifine anymore

      That wall of text is a bit difficult to read to me, I think it would’ve helped me if you put some line breaks and dots in there 😅
      I’d like to add that Fabric, Sodium, Lithium, and Iris are all libre/open source software.

      It used to be that continuity didn’t work with sodium so you couldn’t use the advanced textures that optifine through its CTM integration. I remember needing Sodium, Indium, and Continuity all to be compatible with the version I wanted to play in order to have fps boost and connected textures.
