      The problem is (at least here in the Netherlands) is that all our windows are fucking enormous because it used to be cold and overcast 90% of the time here, and you’d take all the warmth and sunlight you can get. With the insulation already normally there, it heats up a ton in summers these days because the sun is just shining through you window covering the entire wall half of the day. The heat then can’t go anywhere. It’s completely build to get as much heat and light in and trap it there. The only thing you can really do against that is sun blocking on the outside of the house, but that isn’t always possible, and if you happen to have an apartment on the top floor or side of a building or an apartment with/on an attic, you’re just shit out of luck.
