Threads’ roadmap for integrations with the fediverse, aka the network of decentralized apps that includes Twitter/X rival Mastodon and others, has been revealed. A new blog post by Tom Coates, the co-founder of an older decentralized app called Planetary, details the events of a December meeting at Meta’s offices where the Threads team had reached out to members of the fediverse community to get feedback about the Instagram-led project to take on X with a decentralized app that will eventually interoperate with others in the fediverse by way of the ActivityPub protocol.

    Dot world is seemingly trying to be the big face of the platform

    But why though? I was giving them a serious shot, the benefit of the doubt and a power user. Then their admins went batshit troll on me. Something is up over there.

        I’m not going there too much again, holy shit it took awhile to get them to lay off last time. I deleted my account and a lot of my comments from last time. It made me make this comment and the attached image is about a 25% of the trolling. You have to see it as a big picture instead of each individual one.

        I’m going to talk about trolling because it’s going to get bad this next year no matter what community you’re on. Here are the most used ways that I’ve seen.

        • This one has become the most popular and I’m not sure if there’s an official name for it, but I call it the wolf pack. It’s death by a thousand “you suck” comments that don’t always come out and say it. Here are pics so you can see examples https://imgur.com/a/EqbknnX

        • The second biggest one is just lying and can be combined with the wolf pack version (like in my examples). They’ll lie their ass off and make it sound legit. The best technique I’ve found from a study of the 2016 elections, is to respond once with a source and then walk away. Another user recommended, that if you find someone doing this, then have a legit conversation with the person that posted the truth. Of course, the trolls try to do this with the liar too, so it can get complicated.
