It’s not weird since a kiss on the forehead is a sign of respect and love in many cultures. A kiss on the mouth on the other hand is what most people find weird.

When checking inbox on the voyager app it directly takes you to the “all” section for convenience. It wouldn’t be a problem if I was able to hide or delete response comments but sadly there’s no way.

Edit: voyager actually goes to the last selected inbox section. Going to the unread tab and backing make it the default. Problem somewhat Fixed.

The fix is only momentary 😬 as voyager default to the all inbox upon reopening the app , so I would gladly accept the spam reply. I’d rather open my inbox to anything but that picture. Maybe a few pictures of any of your pets can save my eyes but I’d accept anything else. Thanks in advance.

Sorry man, Eastern Europe has this etched into our collective consciousness and I guess I was just already desensitized to it. Would deleting the reply help?

It’s okay, no hard feelings. I also would like to apologize if anyone with a culture where such things is normal felt I was disrespectful to them.

The image isn’t really a problem anymore thanks to someone that generously offered to spam reply to push it way back in the inbox list, but I Geuss deleting it would remove it completely from my inbox so that would be a plus. Again, I don’t mean to disrespect anyone, it’s just that it’s weirding me out.

Welcome to (western)society, where we sexualised physical affection. Hurray! /s

I wish i could cuddle with my friends without quite literally itching all around my body.

Different cultural influences can exist in the same country. Go to germany, then to france and afterwards to the USA and you will have big cultural differences but also cultural similarities. Would you not say that certain affectionate acts as cuddling and kissing have a weird sexual energy to them in the west? Maybe its a german thing after all.

It just doesn’t make sense to describe the Western society as doing something when the topic seems to be specifically about differences inside the Western culture.

When I was a kid, my first trip to Italy experiencing the common cheek kiss handshake was mind-blowing. Just like a handshake, it to has variations. There was: the single, the double, the hovering, the silent (no smack sounds), the silent hover, and the way you pronounced the “smack”. It has to have just the right amount of air-suck sound with no buzz or vocalizations.
