Most people already have several Linux machine in their home. I wouldn’t be surprised that Linux has already thc malority of consumer device.

Just Desktop aren’t but smartphone, routers, and tons of smart shit are Linux based

Yup. Not counting my two PCs that both run Linux, I have:

        • LG Smart TV - webOS is Linux
        • Android phone and tablet
        • Chromecast - pretty sure it’s Linux
        • Steam Deck - SteamOS is Linux

And that’s just the ones I know about. I wouldn’t be surprised if our cars, refrigerator, washing machine, etc all ran Linux inside. In fact, the only devices we have that I know don’t run Linux (and have a real OS) are:

        • wife’s iPhone
        • wife’s iPad
        • wife’s PC - Windows
        • my work computer - macOS
        • Switch - FreeBSD

But 4/5 of those are still *nix.

My kids haven’t even used Windows, aside from like 5-10 min here and there on my wife’s PC.
