    I wonder if it’s because with writing we’re making actual shapes with our hands/fingers as we move through the letterforms, while with typing it’s the same basic movement each time, typing a letter ‘a’ is the same action as typing an ‘m’ or anything else. There’s just not enough physical variability between how we output the different letters when we’re typing vs the sort of artistry that we get when writing things out by hand. Seems to be what the article is saying.
