So, what do we do now? Keep the lotto line, see if Lindholm can centre Mikheyev and someone (like Hoglander?) Keep Miller, Brock n Suter together and see what Petey/Lindholm/Mikheyev can do?

I’m just so excited.

It’s pretty good for us. We lost that Hunter prospect, a D prospect, who wasn’t doing much a first and fourth.

I kinda figured we’d have to give up Hoglander or one of our top prospects like LekkermakiSorryForThePresumablyWrongSpelling or Wylander.

I was extremely worried we were sending Hog or one of our top prospects. We sent 2 low end prospects that probably would never see nhl ice. Frees up 5.5 for next year which is great.

Resigning petey and hronek should be top priority for management. If we can get lindholm to sign to that’d be great. Or if petey doesn’t want to sign, we have a decent replacement in lindholm and can trade petey for a haul. But I hope that’s not the case.

I think this move really shows petey that we want to compete.

Never thought of it this way but u are right, we now have a plan B if petey ended up not signing .

Yeah, clearing the cap space AND landing Lindholm in one swing is impressive. All of a sudden, next year’s signings look tricky but not crazy.

I really hope they can get Hronek for something reasonable.

And fully agree re showing Petey. Heck, I bet we grab another (smaller) piece or two.

I kind of want the lotto line to break up. Once in the playoffs, i think having 4 lines hockey is better and more dynamic approch. Hopefully Lindholm can free up petey for more offense and that line can find some success.

Is Lindholm a playoff type of players which he has another gear during playoff? I just know he was killing it when Tkuchuk and Gudreau were on his wingers.

I think you’re right about 4 lines, especially if Lindholm can take faceoffs for Petey (though I like we can put the lotto line together if needs be.) Also, I imagine Lindholm is an upgrade on Kuz for the PP.

Don’t know about playoff Lindholm but he hasn’t had much opportunity over the years…

Yeah. And i think he is a PK specialist as well. Defn more usage than Kuz.

But will miss Kuz. His random quotes during interviewa are fun.

I’m always a pessimist when it comes to giving up picks. I know it’s an exciting time for the team but I don’t want a cup at all cost.

      Totally reasonable.

Personally, I don’t want to give up any strong prospect we’ve seen develop but I’m okay spending a picks to up our odds. My rough mental math is it’s the odds the rental ups our chances vs the odds that pick becomes a top 6/4 player.

(For comparison, after this trade, the bookies upped our odds from 17:1 to 13:1, or 5.88% to 7.69% which is an almost 30% increase!!!)
