      The Germans (VW, BMW, Mercedes) are part of Germany’s largest Union, called IG Metal.

      They have 35h work weeks, 30+ days of paid vacation, unlimited sick days.

        The concept of sick days is completely unknown in Germany. The company has to pay the first 6 weeks of illness, afterwards the socialized healthcare pays. You can only get fired if you have more than 30 workdays missing in a year due to illness in three consecutive years.
