Though the House has passed their bill in a 80-35 vote, there are still key differences with the Senate’s legislation. Senators have emphasized that their bill is more narrow than the House’s proposal, putting some distance between them and the other chamber.

The bill, HB49, would allow 16- and 17-year-olds to work more than eight hours in a day even if school is the next day, or more than 30 hours a week when school is in session.

This has to be addressed at a federal level, 30 hours per week plus school?
