AI: British scientists conducted a study that showed that the use of phosphodiesterase type five inhibitors (PDI5), used to treat erectile dysfunction, is associated with an 18 percent reduction in the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. These results were based on data from the IQ VIA Medical Study with data from the Health Improvement Network (THIN) database, which included 269,725 men. The scientists found that starting IPD5 was associated with a reduced risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease compared to those not taking it. However, randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these findings.
