That’s fucking stupid on r/Apples part to reopen. The whole point was to shut down, regardless of whether or not Reddit takes control of the subs. Because even if they did force mods to step down, there’s a chance the subs would become even shittier than before and cause users to leave. Really dumb decision IMO and completely defeats the purpose.
That being said, if Reddit is doing this, I think we can safely assume it’s now having a financial impact. MODS, DON’T BACK DOWN!
Agreed, sorta invalidates everything doesn’t it? I don’t get why mods have such a hardon for being a mod. Like, wasn’t this that it’s a volunteer job and they’re being treated like they owe Reddit something?
But now they’re like “pwease don’t take my mod from me daddy spez”
Just goes to show you have fuckin spineless and pathetic most of these mods are, imo
Reddit is drving itself into the ground. At this point, I think it’s beyond saving.
Reddit corporate acting like Reddit is a country
tl;dr:
If there are mods here who are willing to work towards reopening this community, we are willing to work with you to process a Top Mod Removal request or reorder the mod team to achieve this goal if mods higher up the list are hindering reopening. We would handle this request and any retaliation attempts here in this modmail chain immediately.
Our goal is to work with the existing mod team to find a path forward and make sure your subreddit is made available for the community which makes its home here. If you are not able or willing to reopen and maintain the community, please let us know.
