TL;DW:

• DeckHD has higher resolution (read: worse FPS, higher detail), but OG Steam Deck is similar in color reproduction and other tech specs
• Steam Deck OLED blows both out of the water on HDR and whatnot
• DeckHD has some annoying caveats, like needing to update the firmware, and a long installation process

The conclusion matches my takeaway: don’t bother with DeckHD unless your screen needs replacing anyway. Get the OLED if you just want an upgrade.
