Right now it seems to always go back to Local.

In settings there is a “Type” and I set that to All but that didn’t seem to make a difference.

As someone who hosts their own personal instance I’d like to know too.

Everything I want to see is not “local” there’s pretty much nothing local. But I’m an edge case I suppose.

On my instance, once I set the type to “all” in my profile-level settings, it shows “all” by default when clicking the logo in the corner (or loading the instance initially).

When I set only the instance-level option to all, that didn’t seem to have an effect. Similarly, if I’m not logged into my instance, it will only show local by default.

So now I’m curious if perhaps the instance-level setting for “type” isn’t being honored.

Have you tried changing type to “all” in your profile options?

I’ve done it in the settings but I don’t think there is an option in the profile itself. … Doesn’t seem to work.

It should be in both. The {instance_url}/admin panel has the option to set the default listing type for the whole instance (all or local), and the {instance_url}/settings (profile and user settings) has a similar option called “type” which will let you select “subscribed”, “local”, or “all”.

I have it set to “all” in both, but it always defaults to “local” unless I set it otherwise in my profile ({instance_url}/settings). If i’m not logged in, though, it seems to default to “local” regardless of the setting at /admin.

I’m not a server admin so can’t try /admin, but definitely have set it in /settings to no avail.

That’s strange. I know I had the same problem but I am admin of my server.

Maybe it has to be set in both places? Might reach out to your server admin and see if they can/will work with you.

I was hoping to confirm a bug in order to report it, because there does seem to be something weird about that setting

If i’m not logged in, though, it seems to default to “local” regardless of the setting at /admin.

This happens on my instance too. Loading the root site shows local despite the all toggle being checked.
