I think this level of self-awareness is probably the most frustrating. They’re aware this looks crazy, but not that it might just be crazy.

Because it’s not a belief in being independent. It’s a “trick” to not be beholden to taxes or car insurance/registration, etc.

This one acknowledges that it’s crazy and he will probably be denied employment for submitting fraudulent details. But they want the benefits of cheating their way out of being “part of the machine”

It’s probably part of it, and being part of a secret in group that gives them a sense of being and identity in this bleak corpo meat grinder of world we live in.

Maybe a bit of non violent disobedience, a desire to get caught and martyr themselves for a bit of notoriety.

It’s probably a complex series of social, psychological, political events that’s just easier to boil down to ‘crazy’ and be amused by their antics.

Putting aside the insanity that’s at surface level, why put all zeros for your zip code?

Like, in their delusional world I get that SSNs are some ownership tool, contract or reference to their secret corporation, but zip codes are a place. If you’re putting down your address, the zip code just makes it easier for mail to reach you.

Of all their bullshit, this is the one that totally breaks me.

Possibly because a zip code implies you live in the US instead of your own sovereign state.

Or something…probably giving these folks too much credit here…

Yeah, I think it gets to a point wherethe just figure everything’s a trap so these arguments become easier as they go along.

Zip codes are a way to admit that I’m in the US, SSN is me saying I’m their property, license plates mean my car is really theirs, etc.

Except it’s all good when a notary “verifies” their claims, I haven’t really seen an argument against using notary services in a country they don’t recognize as their own.

          Hah good point.

I wonder if notaries are rationalized with “logic” like, “I signed it therefore it is legally binding in my sovereign country, and it is notarized in your country therefore it is legally binding in both our countries and you have to do what I say”?

Nevermind that’s not remotely how the world works…

Coming from Canada sometimes you just put all zeros for zip codes if asked. It’s a special zip code used for those cases. So not entirely crazy I guess.

Of course you can’t fill an employment form, but if you use a credit card from another country for example, the zip code is all zeros.

I mentioned in a separate comment, but zip code 00000 is reserved for international uses. Like credit cards at least. Not sure how that plays out for employment though.

It’s a sardonic take on “super patriots” ala starship troopers. Lots of ingame puffery and double talk about what a great and indispensable hero the in game player is, but one of the core game mechanics is that the person you play as dies a lot on the battlefield. Each time you do, a ship fires down a new person, with a new voice and sometimes new gender that is told the same lies about being indispensable but has the exact same armor and weapon load out the previous “you” did.

I take the above to mean all the crazy but seemingly normal double speak the game does fits sovcit talk to a tee.

Yup. Even the in game tips, random things you find on the battlefield, propaganda commercials all fit the sovcit talk. No doubt in my mind these folks would be on the battlefield yelling “Freedom” .

That’s really all that happens, employer won’t give the application a second glance and just move on. This guy thinks they’ll sit there debating whether to give a job to the nutcase putting all zeroes for his zip.

On that note, I wonder when he converted to the sovcit religion and what jobs he had before then, and if he would even mention those as work history in future applications. Hell of a gap to have to explain.
