Within the past two weeks, an administration aide sent an unusual letter to the White House Correspondents’ Association complaining about coverage of a special counsel’s report on Biden’s handling of classified documents. In addition, the president’s campaign objected to its perception that negative stories about Biden’s age got more attention than remarks by Donald Trump about the NATO alliance.

It was fucked up when trump attacked the press, it’s still fucked up that Biden does it.

And it’s really fucked up that people act like they don’t see where this is headed.

Republicans will keep getting worse, and neoliberals will keep following them to the bottom and screeching at anyone that doesn’t understand why we have to throw out standards out the window just because Republicans did it.

And it’s really fucked up that people act like they don’t see where this is headed.

The media doesn’t get free reign to sway public opinion however they feel by putting out manipulative coverage. These companies are owned by rich elites who want to control the narrative and put their preferred candidate on top. That’s not journalism, it’s propaganda.

But like, they’re right. There was way more coverage over a thing that’s at best a wash as far as it should affect anyone’s choice for president (since there’s not a feasible non-old option) while they brushed past an actual big dangerous world shaping statement.

The press should cover Biden’s age, for sure, but they’re also hopelessly chasing some idiotic idea of “balance” that needs increasingly overhyped negative stories about Biden to compensate for Trump being an endless dumpster fire. The press are active participants in defining “what’s important” and have been so worked over by Republicans crying about the liberal media (and a desire to chase conservative readers) that they don’t actually try to objectively report developments. Trump’s brain has been leaking for years, including some much more convincing examples of being unable to form coherent thoughts or remember who he’s talking about, and they’d never even imagine spending a whole week talking about it.

Most of the press isn’t speaking truth to power to inform the public. They’re instead a crucial part of the whole conservative-neoliberal death spiral. They allow the Republicans to march endlessly towards fascism because talking endlessly about how that’s bad would make them look biased while building the incentives (by accepting conservative bullshit framing on things uncritically) that pushes/gives cover for the neoliberals sliding right.

DNC won’t, and the primary challengers have invited Biden to attend debates they’ve held so far but he refuses to acknowledge them.

          Very democratic and cool.

Hard to do when the DNC is actively squashing primary challengers.

Biden’s ego demands a second term because he’s been so amazing (for his donors), and that’s final.

Spoken like someone who’s willing to risk a 2nd Trump presidency and the end of democracy.

I don’t like Biden either. But the DNC supporting anyone else is an insane idea that is very likely to cost them the election, and then the country.

Either you can’t or refuse to understand the stakes, or are actively working to get Trump elecred.

More deportations of legal migrants than Trump, record setting oil and gas drilling, greenlighting more gas and oil pipelines for his pal Manchin, actively and shamelessly enabling Palestinian genocide. I understand the stakes, do you?

And please, enough with the “but orange dotard is worse” I know this already you clown, it doesn’t mean that someone who can barely beat Trump in polling by 4% isn’t also extremely bad. btw, in order to squeak out a win in 2020, Biden had to beat Trump by 5% on average. It was leftists and young people who gave him that edge, and he has callously turned his back on them since taking office.

Biden is pretty much the best chance to lose to Trump this year. So who is it that is working towards that Trump second term again?

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Within the past two weeks, an administration aide sent an unusual letter to the White House Correspondents’ Association complaining about coverage of a special counsel’s report on Biden’s handling of classified documents.

In addition, the president’s campaign objected to its perception that negative stories about Biden’s age got more attention than remarks by Donald Trump about the NATO alliance.

Sams pointed to stories by CBS News, The Wall Street Journal, The Associated Press and others emphasizing that Hur had found evidence that Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified material.

It was Sams’ second foray into press criticism in a few months; last fall he urged journalists to give more scrutiny to House Republicans and the reasons behind their impeachment inquiry of Biden.

“It is inappropriate for the White House to utilize internal pool distribution channels, primarily for logistics and the rapid sharing of need-to-know information, to disseminate generalized critiques of news coverage,” O’Donnell said.

Americans deserve a press corps that covers Trump “with the seriousness and ferocity this moment requires,” said Ducklo, who resigned from the White House in 2021 for threatening a reporter.
