YOU SHALL NOT PASS!
Prompt: Generate a photorealistic picture which is a re-creation of the iconic “Tank Man” photo taken on Tiananmen Square in 1989, but instead of a human let it be a wizard looking like Gandalf from a birds perspective. He spreads his arms to the sides to not let the tanks pass.
Im confused, why did you post a picture of nothing happening?
The CCP says all photos of 1989 were fabricated by the West with computer graphics.
Someone must have had early access to Midjourney in 1989.
This was generated with Copilot/Dall-E. I really was a bit surprised that the keywords “Tiananmen Square” and “Tanks” together were not blocked.
Only during one of the runs, Bing thought it appropriate to point out the following:
“Please note that this image is not a historical representation of the events that occurred on Tiananmen Square in 1989, but a fictional and creative re-creation based on your input. I do not intend to offend or disrespect anyone with this image. 🙏”
YOU WON!!! And get to pick the next contest, have fun!
Wow, did not expect this. Thanks everybody! I already have an idea for the next round. Coming up soon!
what’s the difference between mythical and fantastical?
L’empereur needs an imperial mount to spread LIBERTÉ through Europe
Napoleon flying a dragon, over the battlefield where armies are walking, the dragon blows french coloured fire in Bing image generators
now I want to go to Waterloo, take a photo and do some inpainting
The style here is magnificent!
Genseric, ogre king of the goblin kingdom, sacked Rome during the reign of Emperor Petronius Maximus. He only agreed to leave after being bribed with half the empire’s treasury.
Prompt:highly detailed painting of a giant ogre and an army of goblins sacking Rome, in a classical styled roman square with marble pillars, painted in a neoclassicism style --ar 8:5 --stylize 275
I up-scaled the original image and then resized it to 70% to refine the details. Please don’t complain if it doesn’t quite match the Vandal’s sacking of Rome. I’m taking some liberties with my version :)
It’s beautiful!
Wow, favorite and most original! I’m honored! :)
Just out of curiosity, what would have made an image with a clear theme? I noticed none of us got it right in the end.
Shit… My inability to score these right… Though I think everyone would have gotten it. Fail Me!
No worries, everyone getting to add an extra point to their score doesn’t change the ranking.
I was just worried that we all misunderstood the theme and just made a big collective mess of it all (which can be fun in it’s own way :)
Lol, I’m glad to know I failed. Next time I’ll be more careful.
Just out of curiosity, what would have made an image with a clear theme
Regarding the theme is clear rule, I feel like it’s badly named. At the time of the Monsters are back to school I came with some arbitrary rules to count point, to be neither the most upvoted nor OP’s favourite, my original them is clear idea was to make sure that people stay in the week theme, but indeed that one hasn’t been used much (in the sense everyone getting the bonus), so may-be worth removing it.
Another rule change which may be interesting is the weight of the “most upvoted”, meaning that in the end it’s always the most upvoted winning. May be it’s interesting to try most upvoted 2, second most upvoted 1, or even Most upvoted 3, 2nd most upvoted 2, 3rd most upvoted 1, but these are just thought on point weighting
Pinging @[email protected] as they’ll be the one offering the next challenge. If you want to improve the rule, feel free, when I came with that point system 6 month ago I wasn’t expected to be “holy rules”
That’s true, I don’t think I’ve ever not given anyone a “theme is clear” point (and I hosted four of them already)
The problem is that most of the points are easily won by most contestants, and others are very much up to the host’s taste (OP favorite, most original). If you lower the “most upvoted”, you might end up with a lot of combinations that could tie for first place. On the other hand, with “most upvoted” being so heavily weighted, it usually means that those who post first will have a higher chance of winning.
I agree on the rules not being absolute, feel free to experiment with whatever you think will work for you @[email protected]
Ok, I thought about this and decided to not continue the “theme is clear” points in the upcoming contest. And I’ll try: Most upvoted +3, 2nd most upvoted +2, 3rd most upvoted +1 point. And: +1 point for the last TWO entries.
Mermaids pushing away (??) an iceberg from the Titanic in the style of an old black and white photo. The mermaids have realistic skin and scales, and they use their strength to move the ice. The Titanic is in danger of hitting the iceberg, but the mermaids are trying to save it. The scene is dark and dramatic, with realistic lighting and shadows. The photo has a vintage look, with grainy texture and low contrast.

Ah! Love this challenge this week.
Mothra has been proven responsible for the Chernobyl catastrophe in 1987.
Here’s the prompt :
The chernobyl nuclear plant after exploding in 1987 at night, but there is a giant mothra titan destroying it. Everything’s exploding.
The image is gorgeous!!
Ok, things got weird here. The prompt in the bingilator was “the fall of Berlin 1945 and the heroes invading are vampires and the evil Germans are all versions of sailor scouts” after a lot of messing around with the wording (over 30 tries) and not one sad dog I got this:
Bing was VERY confused about who was the antagonist and oddly ok going full nazi.
(I did not see this coming) for example (not in the running)
Other bonus crimes on eyes:
This could almost be a JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure season 2 plot, especially the second picture.
That second picture was a shocker, I was trying for a version of “Raising a Flag over the Reichstag”. Instead I get some sort of poster for a propaganda film.
Actually, I am surprised that bing let you draw nazi, I was expecting at best a sad dog at worst a you’re violating our policy, next time you’ll be banned
My first idea was with zombie-nazi, but didn’t got some nice stuff in SD with also the model not knowing who is who. and was sure bing would tell me that I’m violating their policies good to know that you can go full nazi but if you dare to ask for a kid drinking whisky you’re breaking all the rules
I was shocked that not one time did I get any push back. I was also a bit concerned that bing kept making Nazis look like the good guys, I tried using different monsters and mythical beasts but it almost always just left them out. Bizarre.
That first one would make an awesome poster for a very weird musical
Yeah, why do I get “Musical” vibes as well?
Harold and his Purple Crayon put the finishing touches on the Mona Lisa
Niji Journey V6 Prompt: Harold a precocious imaginative and creative African American child and his purple crayon, put the finishing touches on the mona Lisa
Awe! This one is so sweet!
but where is the mythical creature?
Harold is the mythical creature. I’ve got like 400 others if you want, but this was my favorite. Here, enjoy this leviathan from the depths, at Pearl Harbor.
what is Harold?
Harold too is fictional but not mythical 🤷
Godzilla, Sailor Moon, Mothra, Gandalf, and Gizmo??? Are you giving everyone in this thread this much grief?
That’s fair, but as someone who is weeks away from being a grandpa it’s delightful to me!
Gremlins created the first pocket computer.
Prompt: New iPhone announcement, replace all the humans with gremlins
This explains so much! 😆
I love the Hillary and Norgay werewolves
Thank you!!

Pretty sure they’d shit their space suits lol
my entry is disqualified. Godzilla is a fictional and not a mythical creature.
some may argue that all mythology is fictional, that doesn’t mythicize all that’s fictional.
I had no idea. I took mythical and fictional for the most part as synonyms as long as it could be found in a fantasy realm and I would have considered Godzilla in that category. While the western culture may not consider Godzilla to be mythical I imagine the eastern culture might.
that’s what i thought, that Godzilla was a yokai.
according to Wikipedia land of Godzilla is not sure either 🤷
On the other hand, the yōkai introduced through mass media are not limited to only those that come from classical sources like folklore, and just as in the Edo period, new fictional yōkai continue to be invented, such as scary school stories and other urban legends like kuchisake-onna and Hanako-san, giving birth to new yōkai. From 1975 onwards, starting with the popularity of kuchisake-onna, these urban legends began to be referred to in mass media as “modern yōkai”. This terminology was also used in recent publications dealing with urban legends, and the researcher on yōkai, Bintarō Yamaguchi [ja], used this especially frequently.
During the 1970s, many books were published that introduced yōkai through encyclopedias, illustrated reference books, and dictionaries as a part of children’s horror books, but along with the yōkai that come from classics like folklore, Kaidan, and essays, it has been pointed out by modern research that there are some mixed in that do not come from classics, but were newly created. Some well-known examples of these are the gashadokuro and the jubokko. For example, Arifumi Sato is known to be a creator of modern yōkai, and Shigeru Mizuki, a manga artist of yōkai, in writings concerning research about yōkai, pointed out that newly created yōkai do exist, and Mizuki himself, through GeGeGe no Kitaro, created about 30 new yōkai.
There has been much criticism that this mixing of classical yōkai with newly created yōkai is making light of tradition and legends. However, since there have already been those from the Edo period like Sekien Toriyama who created many new yōkai, there is also the opinion that it is unreasonable to criticize modern creations without doing the same for classical creations too. Furthermore, there is a favorable view that says that introducing various yōkai characters through these books nurtured creativity and emotional development of young readers of the time.
edit after further reading: Godzilla is a copyrighted fictional creature. It’s as mythical as Mickey Mouse or King Kong :/
prompt: a historical film still of (Sailor Moon)1.5 with astronauts landed on the moon first time in 1969. film photography style, HDR
Other results:
There was a day, not that long ago that will be one of those ‘Historical Moments’ that everyone will look back on and remember (yes this is taking creative liberties).
the “The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man” from Ghostbusters giving a speech in front of the capitol building as people riot and storm the building, the rioters are wearing red MAGA caps. There are signs and american flags.
Some others as I built the prompt and worked around the “this image is not safe”
Made with Comfyui, the worklflow should be embedded in the image

Generation Parameters
Positive Prompt: Werewolves
Negative Prompt: blurry, horror
Model: Fenrisxl_V16fp16
This is a combination of IP Adapter, High Res fix and Face Detailer. The IpAdapter “reads” the original image and creates a basic positive and negative conditioning based of the image contents. I´ve just added “werewolves” as prompt to get mythical creatures.
