With the upcoming onslaught of warm weather this week are you changing your winter tires early this spring?

Winter is far from over. We’re still in for several shit events at least into April. I work on boats and people are calling me thinking they’re going boating next week and then we get a foot of wet snow.

Also, if you get a break on your insurance for having snows, you’ll get sweet FA if you take them off early and get in an accident.

I guess we’ll see how March fares. Though boating seems highly unlikely for now.

Good point on the insurance bit.

Luckily I don’t drive much, so I’ll just keep mine on and hope most jump on this so the Costco appointments won’t be as crazy when I actually do try to book.

Every single year after waiting in Costco for 3 hours I tell myself I’ll get it done somewhere else…

Smart. Have you considered doing it yourself? Goes pretty quick once you get the hang of it.

If I had room for the tools I totally would. All the tires are on their own rims and everything

Assuming your car has a scissor jack in the trunk for changing a flat, you can attach a power drill to it and then you just need a torque wrench to torque your wheel nuts.

Srs, after a few years of practice it’s a 40min job and gives you a chance to inspect your brakes too.

I can’t resist the urge to get mine changed once the temperature drop is on the horizon. The thought of salt on my good rims 😵
