      Sure, you can get it in less than 4, or as I like to say, under par. By now, you’ve probably noticed some tendencies about the words NYT chooses as solutions.

      Try the most common consonants RTLSN early if you can. Some players like to always use the same starting word like RAISE, SANER, or CRATE. You could even use the same first two words like CLOSE TRAIN, COAST LINER, or DAISY ROUTE. Once you understand how those words help you solve the puzzle in fewer turns, you’ll find all kinds of viable starting words you can choose from.

      Whatever you do, take your time. You have all day to get the puzzle done, so use all your clues and make logical guesses.
