An actual audit is a full review of absolutely everything to re-build up your returns from scratch and verify every little detail. Even for basic returns audits often take multiple days to complete.
I paid my taxes with bill pay, they cashed the checks, but didn’t apply them to the tax year because apparently they need to know the year to apply it to.
That’s crazy.
