    Note to future Tesla owners. If you send a letter to a specific address within 30 days of buying the vehicle, you can opt-out of forced arbitration.

    I think that arbitration has a legitimate place in a fair legal system, but honestly, arbitration clauses in consumer contracts are just a way for companies to abridge the rights of consumers. I think there needs to be a law that says that arbitration provisions are opt-in by the consumer, meaning the provision is only effective if the consumer opts to agree to it, and the contract is not conditioned on their acceptance (i.e. they can still agree to all the other terms and conditions without arbitration).
