Lots of accounts ask for name and other proof. Credit cards, id, etc.
Sadly it’s the norm now.
laws need to be created for making this illegal, unless it is absolutely required for providing you the service.
Well, they don’t get my business. If they require something they don’t need, I look elsewhere.
You don’t use any Google accounts? No android or apple phone? Steam? You don’t have any medical accounts? Bank accounts? That’s just of the top of my head.
Other than Bank accounts, none of those require my real name.
The entire point is that they do if you need to recover your account.
