It’s a bit ridiculous that the DMCA is being used to prevent people from repairing their equipment in the first place.

Not just a bit. It’s late stage capitalism dystopian hellscape kind of ridiculous.

Man there sure are a lot of late stage capitalist dystopia nightmare hellscape things happening these days.

Sure is good that we don’t live in one of those, right fellas?

The DMCA is an infringement of property rights (actual ones, not Imaginary Property “rights” that are actually just temporary privileges) and should not exist at all.

Not really particularly ridiculous. It’s exactly the kind of evil it was designed for. Just a broader application than advertised.

You guys absolutely need healthcare, and I don’t want to diminish that, but at the same time this is potentially a big deal as it impacts right-to-repair, sustainability, etc.

Yup, I get it. It’s important with regards to farm equipment and many other things. Just drives me crazy how they can’t cover the fundamentals, but they get fired up about McD’s ice cream.

With better Right to Repair laws, healthcare costs will go down as they won’t need to call the OEM every time a capacitor pops

Yes, I’m all for Right to Repair.

Unfortunately it’s only one part of our very broken healthcare system.

What’s the reverse of eating the onion? I definitely thought this was fake until seeing the source.
