Chuck Cook finally got FSD Beta v12!
TL;DW:
- First unprotected left was perfect.
- U-turn: It did it. A little slower than he’d like, given 50 mph oncoming car. It should have accelerated sooner once it committed to the turn.
- Forward-facing left turn with flashing yellow was fine.
- Railroad tracks: Pretty good speed. Previous versions used to accelerate across tracks.
- Narrow road with speed bumps: Slows for 2 out of 3 speedbumps. Slowed for the cat. Full stops for stop signs. Slight unusual pause at double divided intersection.
- Unprotected left turn. Contrary to the map planner, it entered the correct lane (not the shared middle lane).
- U-turn with oncoming car waiting to turn, and another car approaching from behind. Chuck tapped the accelerator, but it did it.
- Double green-light bug is gone.
- Acceleration feels natural. Blinkers improved.
- Incorrectly stopped on railroad tracks just before intersection with a red light.
- Traffic circles handled without a hitch
- S-curve: A little bit slow, but blinker bug is gone.
- Joggers: Didn’t slow down, but hugged the left edge of lane.
- Car backing out: Did not honour that, when it probably should have.
- Flashing yellow switching to flashing red on the visualization bug still present.
- Left turn immediately followed by right turn: Perfect execution of blinker timing and lane choice. Low traffic test though.
- Still no separate visualization for ambulance.
- Interesting circling behaviour at destination. (hunting for parking?)
- Turn lane road markings took precidence over planned navigation route.
- Impressively tight U-turn to get out of a dead-end. Still no 3-point turns.
- Overall, Chuck is impressed.
