What apps do all of you use, aside from pencil and paper?

I’ve been trying to find a good digital app to keep track of my character and item, but I’m not rebuying all my books on beyond, I have physical copies of all of them.

Also looking if there are any good spellbook apps. Currently I use one just called spellbook that keeps a list of favorites, prepared and known.

I use my iPad for running and playing my games, and while dnd beyond is thorough, it’s information layout is just terrible. You can really tell that it was made for phones not tablets. And it’s kinda lame that it doesn’t pre-load its content, so you’re waiting for a slow network while trying to access information that you told it already that you want (when you made your character).

I found Fight Club 5 on the app store, and it’s a lot better in both layout and speed, but it also has a pretty high learning curve so someone that’s new (you need to use XSLT to make your compendium due to copyright issues). It also won’t automatically use the system dark/light mode theme - why do apps not support this? What year is it?

I’m still looking for my perfect app. I wish wizards would make one that’s more native for tablets.

DiceCloud is a fantastic character sheet website. Fully customizable in terms of homebrew items and subclasses and the like, and the discord community is super friendly and willing to help you with whatever. It looks really intimidating, but there are guides and pre-made libraries that will help you with whatever you need.
