This is fucked but… not really. Hotel doors have ALWAYS been easy to hack. Whether it was bumping a key based lock (… or just comparing a couple keys and making a skeleton key) or hacking a magstrip or NFC lock.
The reality is that there are a shit ton of cameras in any hotel and someone going door to door to break in and steal stuff will stick out like a sore thumb and come down to the lobby to see a couple cops.
So this mostly impacts targeted attacks (steal a business man’s laptop. rob rich dude. assault a prostitute. etc). Which always were vulnerable.
