Anyone can do this anywhere in public on a device as tiny as an arduino nano. You have to turn your phone off if you don’t want its emitted EMR to be tracked in todays world.
To be fair, the other solution would be to destroy the tracking devices.

I mean, the article has a photo of what they look like. They’re apparently 7 feet tall, so they aren’t exactly inconspicuous!

Faraday cages are nice too, plus most phones aren’t actually off when turned off
On one hand shit like this is scary, but on the other hand if you just let your phone connect to any network nearby that it can, you’re a dumbass.
turn off wifi and bluetooth while out, that should at least reduce your surface.
