So this morning I overwrote 11 years of comments on Reddit with this message:
In preparation for the discontinuation of Ah pall O (read it fast) I have decided to edit my posts/comments and then delete my account. Looking forward to seeing you on whatever comes next 🍻! – mass edited with https://redact.dev/
And I just had a thought. LLM / Generative AI devs and trainers are considering how to consume the massive amount of useful conversation and perspectives on Reddit, and now they will have to contend with random comments in the middle of conversations being completely unrelated to the conversation. Somebody is probably writing code to isolate and ignore these types of comments already 🤣
Happy fediversationing, everyone!
Gonna take some time, but it is currently nuking my 10k comment karma account.
Might not have been the best comments, but it was a lot of them.
Sad to watch them go, but even more sad to think of staying.
@Curtains it definitely wasn’t easy to do. Agree kind of sad, but ousting mods was another red line I felt the crossing of warranted a response. I hope more people keep this up, but also when they are done, fill the hole in their entertainment, education/educating etc time on the Fediverse with us.
Cheers, 🍻
The mods thing is definitely what drove me to delete.
Did a little scroll through, just to see. The content is getting bad quick, the comments are worse.
Fediverse content has been solid so far. Definitely a healthy mix of communities and although it’s like typing on a keyboard for the first time, it’s already gotten way better.
Also sent a message to spez, cuz what’s he gonna do? Ban me?
check your deleted comments in a day or so, others are saying reddit is restoring deleted user comments
I wish I had done that instead of deleting my accounts. I have one left; might do it for that one.
