Grew up with a kid named Victor. We had hippy and biker parents. When we were little kids, we swore to each other that we’d never smoke cigarettes or drink beer or smoke pot. One day in high school, while smoking a j before class, he got really profound and reminded me of this. Then he said now we say we won’t do coke or pcp or heroin.
We lost touch a few years later.
I did, in fact, do a bit of coke, I can count on both hand how many times. I did do angle dust twice. I never did heroin though. He did. I found out a year or two ago he od’ed on it.
Know your boundaries and respect them.
whoa your reply didnt show up on lemmy ml, i think its really time i move my main to another instance. I never did any kind of drugs and refuse to do so, its just not worth the impact on your health.

Damn bro. I’m sorry and I feel you.
Lost my two best friends about six years apart. One to a heroin/fentanyl od, another to an amphetamine induced psychotic break.
It doesn’t necessarily get easier but it does get to a point where you see the path forward without the people who walked it with you this far.
Boundary of never touching opiates is a real good one to respect. I’m sorry for your friend.
