there used to be a television ad that ran for decades with an old lady on the floor with a jersey accent squelching ‘I’ve fallen… and I can’t get up!’ from a company called Life Alert to scare old people into paying big money for a subscription to a panic button necklace without voice capability. It became a mainstream meme of the 1980s onward. This building in the comic is like their headquarters and their whole business empire is because of this icon. note the company is still around today, and will scream fear at elderly to sign up for something long obsoleted by smart watches and voice assistants with no subscription fees.
