A panel covering one of the engines on a Boeing 737 operated by Southwest Airlines tore away mid-flight on Sunday, forcing the plane to turn around.

    It’s not. The cowling is like the hood of a car. Highly likely Southwest maintenance people didn’t button it up all the way after an inspection.
