I know they used to be heavily sanctioned, and had the head of the sports commission down their throats a lot. They needed official time keepers, commission trained refs, etc.
I think they’ve eased up a lot. But you have to remember that back in the 40s-70s etc, wrestling was an exhibition, not a competition. So they got away with pre determined winners and such.
