    So they pull him over for a valid reason, arguments occur, he flees the scene, they stop him, he starts shooting, they shoot back. About the only different thing they could have done is call off the pursuit if they knew his address, but there’s no way to know if the idiot would have then done or caused something worse (like an auto accident from the erratic driving)

    I feel for the bystander, regardless of what gun the bullet came from, it was the sovcit 's fault.

      What they could have done is not shoot any innocent people. That would be the absolute top priority of any police force in any democratic country.

      I feel for the cops, I’m so glad I don’t have to deal with this kind of asshole regularly.

    The article doesn’t make it clear who’s stray bullets put the bystander in critical condition. I bet it was the cops.

      The passive language “was struck” is a dead give away
