    I don’t own one, but in Madrid where I was from, the public city bikes are belt driven and motor-assisted. They get insanely rough and heavy use, but I don’t think I ever saw one where the belt was an issue. So as far as durability alone goes, I’ve seen belts work well and for a long time even on bikes shares by tons of folks and that are left outside 24/7

      Yeah, after watching a bunch of touring videos from Ryan Van Duzer and Dave+Mirra, I’m pretty interested in belt drives. Plus, I’m sick of my pant leg catching on the front derailleur.
