Hey there, fellow Stargate enthusiasts!
We’re on a mission to build our Stargate community, and we need your help! Whether you’re an O’Neill-level fan or just dipping your toes in the Stargate pool, we want you to be part of our journey.
Lurking is like being stuck in a time loop—let’s break free from that! This isnt Reddit anymore (where I’m sure a lot of you are migrating from including myself )
We want to hear your voice, see your Stargate memes, and unravel the mysteries together. No question is too stupid and or out there. Hell, I even like the conspiracy theories that it’s all the truth, they are just fun. Trust us, we’ve all pondered those.
Want to dive deep into Stargate lore? Bring your theories, discuss character arcs, and uncover hidden connections like a true gate expert. And hey, if you stumble upon a Stargate-related gem in another show or movie, it’s time to share that discovery like Daniel Jackson uncovering ancient texts!
Remember, this subreddit is a Stargate sanctuary for everyone. Whether you’re an SG-1 veteran or a rookie just assigned to the SGC, your contributions matter.
So, try to dial in, step through this specific gate, and (re)build part of the Stargate community here. We’re waiting for you on the other side!
Missed opportunity for “dipping your toes through the event horizon”. 😆
Let me spark some turmoil by saying: There should have been more SGU. Being on the fringe of the distant galaxies in a seed ship really gave SG more of a StarTrek feel. It wasn’t tethered to a recurring enemy like the Goa’uld, or beholden to the Ancients (who apparently only existed in one galaxy?)
After getting access to the gate and visiting planets as they moved passed them, they were free to make new story plots endlessly.I skipped Atlantis and tried SGU, but it just didn’t feel all that compelling. I really felt like I was watching one of the teen drama shows, or even a reality show.
I think you’re right. The story possibilities were endless, but I just didn’t enjoy the show at all by the time I stopped watching.
SGU was really really slow to get started. I was definitely interested in the story by the time it was ended and I do wish there was more, but I also understand why it lost so many viewers.
