Telegram is free to censor whoever they want.
If you don’t like it, host your own messaging service. If you use specifically Telegram expecting total freedom and privacy, you are gullible or ignorant.
Start a SimpleX group chat.
You’re right, let’s hold nobody accountable and blame all the victims!

I just realized that this instance doesnt show downvotes seperately… Probably not the best idea to have privacy guides on an instance where you cant easily see if something may be wrong…
Would somebody think of the regimes!
Sure, but people should know they are being monitored by the Saudis, and Telegram should not be used for anything sensitive. They pretend to be a secure privacy respecting platform, but they are practicing mass surveillance and censorship.
Do you not know how communication through servdrs that run proprietary software works?

Dearest dearest Uzi, why so prick?
Per telegrams own info they store the decryption keys. They even state in their TOS They will share info with authorities and “partners” in Dubai. So UAE not Saudis.
Quick check of the post history shows nothing but vitriol and unrealistically black and white thinking. Classic signs of depression.
I hope things get better for you, but in the meantime you’re an easy block.
I agree with his point on this post so when I saw your comment I went “let’s see what the fuss is about.” Jesus Christ. Some of those comments are wild.
telegram isnt e2ee and shouldnt be trusted anyway
Telegram’s that kid in school that often says “hey you can tell me anything, c’mon trust me with your secret”. An hour later, everyone knows it.
