Pretty sure once you’re killing hundreds per day it’s reached stage 9. Stage 8, they’ve been at for decades now (occasional massacres for some, systematic semi-deadly oppression and isolation and exclusion for all with the threat of more at any time).

All of Palestine has been a ghetto since the wall went up in the 1990s.

Oh this is getting interesting. Now you’re telling me there’s some massive Iranian propaganda machine that’s getting all around the globe, and somehow it’s magically stronger than the U.S. propaganda machine. If that’s true, can we just fire all of the top brass in the Pentagon because they’re basically incompetent?

If what you’re saying is accurate, but seems like people ought to lose their jobs.

Please remind me, weren’t there a couple of Israeli politicians calling Palestinians human animals and asking to drop nuclear bombs on top of them.

Or weren’t some far right looting trucks full of humanitarian aid for famine ridden Gaza.

I can definitely continue this list or you can do yourself a favour by reading some Wikipedia page on the subject, and while at it you can also check (pick a random non affiliated with Israel human rights organisation) think of Israel’s treatment of Palestinians.

Hm, I wonder why Palestinians wanted the settler-colonial state of Israel to not exist. Hm. Could it be that the state of Israel has been systematically invading and stealing Palestinian land? And that they’ve been quite vocal about their goals to do so?

Would you also denounce Native Americans for wanting the United States to not exist anymore? Were they wrong for their violent retaliations in the 1800s? After years of genocide, lies, and enslavement?

It makes sense to support the Arabs who got displaced from their homes by Israeli settlers, as well as Jews who were forced out of theirs due to their religion and had nowhere else to go but Israel, but if you’re a member of one of those groups and can’t empathise with the other (eg Hamas, IDF and their supporters) then you should get no sympathy at all.

I’m saying I have no sympathy for Palestinians who can’t sympathise with other people who were forced from their homes, or Israelis who can’t do the same. They are free to dislike the IDF, but using them as an excuse to hate Jews and/or Israelis is no better than the people who hate all Palestinians and/or Arabs masking or justifying it with their hatred of Hamas.

It’s not the same, because Israel are systematic colonizers. IDF acts on behalf of Israel. Sure, not all Israelis have the same political opinions, but ultimately they are living in a country that is committed to genocide of Palestinians. Lots of countries hate the United States for extremely valid reasons and I do have sympathy and ultimately agree with their hatred of Americans, even though I am one.

My disdain for the United States is not a secret nor is it an ulterior motive. It’s just the logical extension of all the atrocities that have been and continue to be committed by the US as a colonizing force and as a world superpower.

I don’t oppose Israel’s genocide because I hate the US - I hate the US because it supports and inflicts genocide.

This isn’t ancient history, Israelis have been enacting and vocalizing a plan to colonize Palestine since the middle of the last century. The idea of Zionism was around before then, but that’s when it took place. There are still people alive who survived the Nakba. The colonialism is the situation right now.

Disclaimer, I’m a third party to this argument.

As far as I can see that’s a misunderstanding.

If you’re a member of one of those groups [Palestinian, Israeli], who can’t sympathize with the other [Israeli, Palestinian]… e.g. IDF (Israelis who can’t sympathize with Palestinians), Hamas (Palestinians who can’t sympathize with Israelis)

Ah I see, honestly my interpretation still stands. Not every Palestinian who can’t sympathize with Israelis is Hamas. Hamas was an example given (because that’s what e.g. means), but based on what they said, they’re referring to any Palestinian who lacks sympathy. They didn’t say only Hamas. And this poster is conflating those two separate but overlapping groups of people, which is also fucked up.

It’s clear that Israel has bigger guns. Why would you even mention that? The question here is morality, not munitions.

By the way, how many of the dead actually wished for all Jews to die? Of course most of them didn’t. Of course most of them just wanted to live their lives in peace. Sigh.

We don’t hate Jews, but we do hate Israel. The two things are in no way synonymous. There are non Zionist Jews, and there are non Jewish Israelis. Some Israelis are against what their state is doing too, regardless if they actually are Jewish or not.

Although for some reason some people in my country definitely hate both. I have spoken to a friend of mine yesterday who said he wanted the Jews gone. I don’t think I should continue trusting that guy.
