Yeah, better make sure red MAGA wins instead so you can get genocide denial, destruction of international law, destruction of local law, a brand new genocide in Europe and less woman and minority rights.

That will sure teach that 81 years old a lesson to see even more people suffer for the rest of their lives until he croaks in a few years!

Blue MAGA isn’t the mummy. It’s the Party.

What do you think happens if Democrats, as a Party, know they can always just use the boogeyman to scare us into voting for them?

If you vote for blue MAGA the Party will realize they can kill anyone they want and you’ll still vote for them. Who’s next on the menu?

      First they came…

I’m trans. I’m not going to vote for other people’s genocide just to maybe protect myself.

But will we be protected? If my red state decides to forcibly detransition me in Biden’s second term he wouldn’t do shit about it.

You realize that there are two possible outcomes. Biden wins, and the Palestinian Genocide gets worse or Trump wins and the Palestinian Genocide gets much worse. You’re voting for it either way, including by refusing to vote at all.

Your claim Trump’s genocide will be “much” worse ring hollow, because you must realize Democrats will look at the election results and realize they need to obstruct Trump’s genocide or face even more losses in 2026. Democrats will become the resistance again, instead of being complicit collaborators.

There has to be a limit or Democrats can just do whatever they want, because you’ll always vote for them. Hence, blue MAGA. That’s a cult.

As someone else said, getting the Republicans elected will not improve anything if people don’t change things from the bottom up (it will actually make everything you’re angry about worse). The Democrats won’t change their stances if they lose that election unless new people take the place of the politicians in place at the moment, they will just rely on people being angrier at the Republicans than they are at them after Trump’s next term, the result will be four years of things getting even worse and the Democrats having to fix even more shit when they get back in power in 2028.

Why would Democrats fix anything? They can just use the threat of Republicans to get reelected. Fixing things is not in their interests, because you will vote for them even if they don’t fix anything at all.

The “secured the border” part is so funny. yeah man, the same racist border policies and migrant camps people were rightfully criticizing when Red Team was in power are super cool and good when Blue Team is in power

I didn’t say that he didn’t do anything. I said he doesn’t need to do anything. Even if he did literally nothing at all you would still vote for him. You are a completely captured voter, you have no choice but to support the Party. They have you hostage and you love it.

Also this graphic is misleading. The three that jumped out at me:

Forcing police to wear body cameras is good, but the number of fatal police shootings has only gone up under Biden’s term in office. In fact, even though the Washington Post’s Fatal Force database has shown fatal shootings have increased, fewer fatal police shootings are recorded by the federal government every year. These fatalities are being covered up, despite the cameras.

Stopping the Keystone XL pipeline is good, but oil production hit a record under Biden. He stopped one highly visible project to satisfy protesters and continued to put us on the path to global catastrophe while people were looking away.

He “secured the border” by reaching across the isle to pass fascist legislation so he can keep putting kids in cages. He doesn’t seperate families, so now they all get to sit together in cramped prison conditions as the number of detentions has soared. You think this is a good thing? This one really pisses me off, what Biden is doing to migrants and asylum seekers is as bad as Trump ever was.

Don’t get your political news from memes.

No, in fact I don’t vote for him because I don’t live in the USA, I just argue with idiots who think they’ll save Palestinians by not voting in the next US election.

This genocide is only possible because of our government’s logistical, technical, and financial support. It’s only possible because we protect Israel from its neighbors, who would have long since intervened if it wouldn’t put them into conflict with the US. Israel is the 51st State, what happens there is possible only because of us.

Furthermore, Foucault’s Boomerang always comes home! Palestine is where we test border technology, policing tactics, facial recognition software, military AI, new weapons and defenses, and methods of political repression. We send our actual police there for training! IDF come over here to teach tactics to us! They’re talking about giving Americans that serve in Israel full veterans benefits! We are not safe.

You think you’re safe? This will come back for both of us, the things learned in Palestine will be applied to us when it’s our turn. It’ll start at the border, then come to the cities, and before you know it they’ll come for you too. That’s what that phrase is supposed to be warning us of, take your head out of the sand. The empire always comes home.

Oh my- you mean the US could become a police state? lol- is there any room in the rock you live under- sounds nice there ;)

But sure- we’re both culpable in genocide as US taxpayers but I guess you’re absolved because you shriek at strangers on lemmy about it.

Because letting my guilt ‘crush’ me doesn’t help anyone. I let it motivate me to vote, donate, and volunteer- things that actually make a small but tangible difference in the world. The guilt means you’re human, letting it crush you makes you useless.

Not the person you’re asking, but vote for better people in local elections and primaries. The time to choose a better leader for this issue was every election before this one. Vote for better people now to solve tomorrow’s problems. Democracy is a constant battle for the future.
