    Don’t mean to be a hater, but every time I hear about things like this the only thing I can think of are points of failure. The future seems cool until your rearview visibility stops working mid drive because of a software issue.

      Yeah I’m with you. Given Tesla’s insistence on having only the centre screen for the driver in the Model 3 I can’t see removing any mirrors as feasible.

      If this is some testing they’re doing for a driverless model though it makes more sense.

    I don’t think that car would be street legal in may state. Side mirrors and a rearview mirror are required equipment. I suppose that is something that will eventually change if more vehicles adopt this kind of setup.

      Yeah, didn’t Tesla try to delete the mirrors from the initial semi truck design, but later added them back due to regulations?
