Like every Senator, he’s tuned in to what his constituents are telling him. Having a bunch of people be pissed about this won’t get him to vote the right way, but it might get him to tune down his hate a little bit.

Why is why you tell people about what’s going on — you’ve got incredible power to influence the views of people you know.
He’s ’Christian’. The people in power want more of this kind of thing, not less. The fact that they can pay him to rule in their favor whenever is just icing on the cake.
Some of them do want it, but the bulk of Democratic Senators do not. Public pressure can get them to do what they’re thinking about, but hesitant to do.
I don’t realistically expect them to remove him from office (that would take a 2/3 majority), but do expect things like censure votes, and more openness to expanding the court.
