I will have to follow up with a photo of her hairy legs. She has beautiful pink fuzzy spikes to compliment these barbs.

Woah I love them! There is nothing like a swamp rose anywhere near where I live in the desert, thanks for sharing!!!
I also have a plant called the Swamp Rose Mallow which I will post when it buds and blooms in a few weeks.
It’s not native here (reaches to southern ontario) but will perennialize. It is close in appearance to the Rose of Sharon. I love how different yet similar plants can be in different regions.
