Might just have been a accident, the weather is pretty bad. You don’t attack anyone with two helicopters… And you don’t attack a Nato member in general…

Right after Lukashenko said that wagner going to Poland was “just a joke”. I do believe that they might be testing Poland at this point. Just like russia had their aircrafts all over the place, but nobody would take them down as they didn’t want to start a war.

On Tuesday 1 August, the Polish Defence Ministry claimed that the country’s airspace was violated by helicopters that carried out exercises near the border.

At first, the official Warsaw denied the violation of airspace, but later explained that the border crossing took place near the city of Białowieża at a very low altitude, and this made it difficult to detect it by radar systems.

It looks like we (the US) flew DONNIE8, one of our JSTARS planes, out there and had it flying ovals over Poland at 4:00 PM UTC on August 1st for several hours about 140 km from that point on the Poland/Belarus border, but it may also be unrelated; it looks like some sort of similar flight has been happening every several days.

JSTARS has downward-looking radar to monitor vehicles and helicopters at low altitude.

JSTARS is capable of determining the direction, speed and patterns of military activity of ground vehicles and helicopters.

I mean, it’s presumably related to Belarus, but might not be in response to the helicopter.
