I don’t get the hate. A 1st person moba sounds fucking fire. Added bonus that it’s valve’s community.

is it caz tf2 is on fire?

EDIT: oh, it’s 3rd person! sry

I thought about mentioning Smite myself, but it’s over-the-shoulder, not 1st person. From a quick Google, Paragon and Predecessor seem to be the same.

Take2 tried it with Battleborn, but failed miserably. Sincerely hoping Valve is more successful. I would love to play a 1st person moba.

I’ve seen pre-alpha gameplay and it’s currently 3rd person. Maybe they’ll change it though. Valve tends to test heavily and make lots of changes over time before release.

I’m not big into multiplayer games, but I have noticed that lemmy and Reddit just get very pessimistic whenever a beloved company announces a multiplayer game

but they got hats, and if you really think about it, that’s not much less than what most competetive games get for updates (only skins)

Epic Games had a first person shooter moba, called Paragon, that failed and closed down. It was actually not bad, just not popular enough.

Which is also kinda not a thing. It doesn’t know what to do with itself except skins and reboots, can’t call it a genre defining game (anymore).

Overwatch 2 isnt even a second installment. (Laughs in someone who purchased OW1 and unlocked content).

If I break NDA, Gaben will come for me. There’s leaked YouTube videos though.

Oh yeah that’s true, I’m too in a NDA-protected MOBA project by the old team behind League of Legends

And it’s amazing, it’s called Project Loki & they’ll show more the 25th June!
