It is the first time that no money will be allocated for arts and culture programs by the state.

Wow. That would be shocking to the arts community. They rely so heavily on grant funding.

Of course, I’m sure DeSantis is doing this because arts are “woke” and “for gay people” or some such ultra right, hateful nonsense.

I’m waiting for all of the woke people to leave Florida and live elsewhere due to his crappy policies.

Edited version because my original post was crap!

People were told constantly to wake up, so they did. Now you don’t like them because they’re pointing out your viewpoints are toxic and harmful to society. But you’re a paragon of morality, while demanding others do things and think your specific way. So you try to vilify all the “others” because doing anything else would force you to admit you’re a shit person and that’s just not possible of course.

You need to learn to accept that a lot of people think you’re a piece of shit, and don’t want to be forced to live like you want them to, just because you have an issue with it.

I bet you justify your shitty beliefs with a religious defense as well. Since you cannot possibly be a bad person if you say you believe in something like Jesus, despite living the exact opposite of his teachings.

I guess the point of my post wasn’t obvious. So I apologise for that. I can see how it was poorly written. But it’s funny how you think you know me because of that.

He’s doing his best to destroy Florida, and in doing so, he may drive people away. Maybe he hopes that democrats and woke people will leave.

What then? Sure he may have a state full of republican supporters that worship Trump. But that would leave a massive vacant hole in tax revenue, fewer people to work specific jobs etc, a significantly worse off state. Is that what he really wants?

So my point was, let the good people leave, who recognize their lives would be better off somewhere else. What would florida look like as a result? It’s a hypothetical thought experiment.

I’m not explaining this very well because it’s late and I’m tired. I’m also apparently woke, supporter of LGQT, transgender, women’s rights, BLM etc etc. So I’ve completely confused you! My bad.

Don’t worry man, I understood your post. A lot of people here are just primed and ready to pounce on anyone who uses trigger words that might be construed as bashing liberals.

Thanks but I brought that on myself by not being clear! Sometimes I can be too obscure. 😁

I think that it would help in the future to put the word woke in quotations, “woke”, to illustrate that you’re actually mocking his viewpoint of all this

Upset when he uses the N word.

At least, that’s what most of them mean by “woke”.

I have no idea but the right wing love to throw that word around to represent anyone that doesn’t agree with their policies and opinions.
