But you are not to blame, Myne. We ended up in this situation because I could not keep my attendants under control.

DAMN, no wonder Arno disappeared up the towering stair case between P2 and P3. I wonder if his action in the Epilogue just dug his grave deeper? Or Faster?

Probably faster, without Myne in the picture it might’ve taken a while longer but a rotten apple doesn’t suddenly appear. If you see the rot on the outside the core has been rotten for a while so all it would’ve changed is the timing of things.

Was your revenge worth it, Arno? He did not care who he hurt in order to hurt Fran. Fran, who had no say in what was done to him. Fuck Arno.

    The last volume, sob!

But it is a banger, starting out just as I’d hoped with a Ferdinand POV around draining her mana, and then going into that shared POV where we get to see not only the Rozemyne-Ferdinand interactions but also Ferdinand’s reactions to the events of the first volume.

“Holy heck, I was so tiny!” “Did you ever worry about accidentally stepping on me?” 😂

I also really enjoyed the contrast of Myne reacting to her family’s actions in the meeting with Bezewanst as a normal noble might have, with Ferdinand’s now more emotional take. Nice reversal, such depth.

Smart of him to show her the Japanese crafts since he didn’t have memory of her lower city crafting.

Gunther: “If whoever you marry can’t protect you, I’ll come beat him up myself.” 💕

and then at the very end, when Rozemyne sees Ferdinand relax with relief when she finally returns to consciousness…

“He must have broken or something.” 🤣

I love the cover art. Alexandria is going to be a beautiful dutchy.

Coincidentally, my family had just started a rewatch of the season 1 anime this week and as is typical of this series, every time I go back and reread or rewatch I find deeper resonance and connections that I didn’t notice the first time. Amazing timing on our part to do it now. In addition, the commentary in Fanbook4 talks about some of the art for the season 1 anime and man this all just ties together so brilliantly.

So what do you guys think Mestianora was hiding when she was telling Ferdi how to restore Roz memory? (The part where Mestianoras eyes darted around the room).

Also I do wonder how Roz regained her memories from watching her prayer. Was the scene emotional enough to break the thin film blocking her memories or something else?

It could be that she didn’t know either, which is surely a very rare, and likely embaressing thing to happen to the literal goddess of wisdom. Or maybe a bit of guilt is setting in for teating her most devout follower so badly, just to get back at that other guy.

If feel like if she knew a way, she would probably have teased Ferdinand some more, and then probably told him for Myne’s sake.

Then again… considering how regular noble culture works, drinking synchronization potions and using the memory searching magic tool for reasons other than criminal investigation, would probably be a very scandalous thing, so maybe she couldn’t quite bring herself to tell him that solution.

It might also be that from the perspective of a god using a synchronization potion is an even more severe act, to them Mana is even more intimate than to nobles and Mestionora only possessing (and thereby synchronizing) a single person in recorded history points to only doing so as a last resort. It might just be that to a god the act of synchronizing Mana is even more scandalous than to a noble.

The prologue makes it sound as if the issue with the clashing mana of the eternal five only happened, because Ferdinand decked Rozemyne out with “god repellant” charms. Had he not done that, Mestionora would have been the only deity in Rozemyne’s system, meaning no pain and such, but only the blocked memories.

I am a grown man, and I had shed so many tears while reading this part and I am not afraid to admit it
