An idling gas engine may be annoyingly loud, but that’s the price you pay for having WAY less torque available at a standstill.

Guess there is an argument to be made for the increased power and torque being a bad thing, together with the extra weight of battery packs EV’s do cause a lot more wear and tear of the road surface. But I highly doubt it offsets the pollution created by ICE’s.

Not mention of the near 10x price difference in cost per mile?

    Assume 3 miles per kWh

kWh = 7.5p night rate (Octopus EV night rate)

EV Cost per mile = 7.5p/3 = 2.5p per mile

    Assume 30 mpg

    Assume £1.50 per litre

There is 4.54609 litres per gallon.

    So 4.54609 * £1.50 = £6.82 per gallon.

ICE Cost per mile = 682p/30 = 23p per mile
