OF was originally designed not for adult content, but just sort of another Patreon. I’ve been thinking about starting a Patreon, but I think it would be funnier if I started an Only Fans since I make educational content.

do you, or anybody that you know, use Only Fans as if it were Patreon?

The only people who I know that do are people that are paid by Onlyfans to do so. To keep their image “Not just porn!”. I’ve never seen anyone there who isn’t there to make adult content.

Whether it started that way or not - it’s now de facto a porn site. I think your idea is funny, but you’re not going to get many subscribers compared to patreon. Most people don’t want an onlyfans account because of the stigma. After all, if you post an update, are your subscribers going to want to have to explain to their wife/husband/SO that the email notification they got of a new post isn’t what they think it is?

OF requires strict government issued ID verification in some jurisdictions. Patreon does not, at least in the US.

That should be your deciding factor already. No one should have their privacy invaded just to send you a few bucks a month.

Maybe I should start one exclusively for selling crude stick figure drawings. Occasionally posting a hairy pussy pic to draw attention, as I have no talent for drawing. I am of course talking about my cats, as I am a middle aged dude.

A couple of primarily YouTube-based music artists I follow made OF pages before the adult influx and still use them. It works great since that’s what it was designed for.

Go for it. Its your decision after all. I heard Cardi B joined OF when it started and doesn’t offer any adult content.
